I have always been a person of few words. For that reason, I have naturally gravitated toward other mediums of communication that allow me to record my mood and observations.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 with a degree in journalism. Since then, I have been working as a professional reporter and writer for various publications in the Bay Area.
My propensity for photography evolved more organically. With no experience, I picked up a cheap camera one day and bought it. I started snapping shots of all the mundane objects around me: traffic lights, record players, window frames.
I have continued to make banal subjects the focus of my photographs, finding ways to make their ordinariness feel unfamiliar.
